Boeing Planning Function of Management
Boeing is a world known commercial airline as well as an integrated defense system organization employing over 150K people all around the world (Boeing, 2008). Thanks to their well planed and organized management plan, Boeing has become a successful as well s a top company for airplanes and military industries. The planning function of management is the process of setting goal and objectives for an organization to achieve over a set period of time. A plan will include activities and tasks that need to be completed in order to reach the ultimate goal (Bateman & Snell, 2009). Good plans will also take into account different variables and unexpected situations. By planning for the unexpected any organization can avoid any type of element of surprise. In the case of Boeing, planning is vital within all of its major departments. Boeing stays on top of their game by setting attainable goals in all of their departments.
