Speaker Notes
The five steps to making a decision method is not only a general way to make a decision but it is also short and effective. The first step, preparing to decide is important because if a decision has not been made it should be the first priority to decide on the decision. The next step creating options consists of creating alternatives and spelling them out clearly. The third step, evaluating the options the decision maker collects or processes information that can help guide the decision. After evaluating the options, the information has been considered according to its relevance and significance, a decision based on that information should be made and, thereafter, implemented. The final step of setting scene of the five-step decision making process is to determine whether the decision was appropriate. Ordinarily, this will be done by ascertaining the decision's consequences.
