Academic Honesty starts with the person taking the class. The only person in the world that can keep you honest is yourself. Today we have computers that fit in our pockets that can do almost everything a full size computer can do. Technology makes cheating easier but at the same time harder. With Google you search the whole Internet with just two keywords and find any paper that has ever been written on the web. At the same time a teacher can also put the same paper in Google and just as easily find the same paper. So you say to your self I well just change the paper enough that Google cannot find it. Then teachers got smart and started using the plagiarism finder application. This application can be used to find and compare to the percentage how much you copied.   Now after all the check’s and resources you have to go through there still is not anyone standing over you making sure it is really you typing up that paper or doing your math work. In the end what comes around goes around. The best academic honesty starts with your own motivation and if you are not motivated to spend a little more time doing something your self then you well not are able to make it in the real world that requires honesty and motivation. Another form of academic dishonesty is not using the write recourses that the teacher provides for you and tells you to use for an assignment. An example would be a teacher giving you a book to read and you instead look up Cliff Notes on the book and use them to same time and write the paper. They told you to read the book for a reason and you well miss out and not learn what was trying to be taught. What’s hard about this for teachers is Cliff Notes are on the Internet and can been seen in class. So for teachers they have to make sure their test and assignments can only be done from the book. Teachers can do all they can to keep students in check but in the end the student is the one that has to have the integrity to not cheat.
