INTRODUCTION
Nitta Gelatin India Limited (NGIL), one of the most successful Indo-Japanese industrial ventures, was incorporated on 30th April, 1975 and started commercial production in 1st October, 1979. The promoters of the company are Nitta Gelatin Inc, Japan, the pioneering Gelatin Company in Japan and Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation, India, the nodal agency for the development and promotion of industry in Kerala. Nitta Gelatin India Limited engages in the manufacture and sale of gelatin, collagen peptide, dicalcium phosphate (DCP), ossein, chitosan, and bovine collagen peptide primarily in India. The company provides gelatin, an ingredient used in the drug delivery systems, such as two piece hard capsules, soft capsules, tablets,coated tablets, and mini and micro capsules; and in the edibles comprising confectionery, gelatin desserts, dairy products, meat products, and beverages and juices. Its collagen peptide, a hydrolyzed form of collagen, is a fibrous protein present in the extracellular matrix of living cells for application in healthcare, personal care, and food products. The company also manufactures and exports ossein, which is used in for the production of gelatin; and produces and supplies DCP to poultry farms and animal feed manufacturers. Its chitosan, a polysaccharide, is used in various applications, such as pharmaceutical, medical, cosmetic, food and agriculture, veterinary, pulp and paper, textile, and water treatment. The company was formerly known as Kerala Chemicals & Proteins Ltd. and changed its name to Nitta Gelatin India Limited in 2008. Nitta Gelatin India Limited was incorporated in 1975 and is based in Cochin, India There are two financial statements namely balance sheet and profit and loss account. Balance sheet is prepared to show the financial position of the business as on a particular date. The purpose of profit and loss account is ascertaining the net result of trading activities.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:
The objectives are classified under two heads.
They are:

Primary Objectives:
* To understand the working of different departments of the Organization. * How each department is supervised by the corresponding department heads. * To study the various functions of the Organization.

* To get practical knowledge of the theory studied.
* How planning, organizing, staffing, directing, controlling executed in the company.

Secondary Objectives:
* To understand about the various products and services they provide. * To find out the market position of the company.
* To find out the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the Organization.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
