Abortion is one of the most controversial topics that has existed. A highly heated debate in many parts of the world. Substantially, for this argument, there is no right answer there is no right side because both can argue with great supporting details on how their perspective is correct. It is a procedure that has caused countless deaths such a large number that it can be compared to the deaths of the Jews from the Holocaust. The battle between pro-life and pro-choice has been a very intense one each debating fiercely and eagerly searching for supporters. In fact,as of now, abortion is legal but the same question still arises, should abortion be legal?
People who are with pro-life are against abortion, often based on religion. Some are against it totally even for health reasons, and others want it only to be allowed for health reasons. A pro-life supporter will argue that killing this “live human” inside the female is killing an innocent person. Questions also arise as to “Is it a human? Is it alive?” and the science behind the answers to these questions have given them one strong view that seems to collapse the arguments of pro-choice activists. It has been studied and made clear that the earliest human embryo is alive because it has the four characteristics needed to establish biological life which are metabolism, growth, reaction to stimulus, and reproduction. They use the facts that at just 22 days after conception the child's heart begins to circulate his own blood and his heart beat can be detected on an ultrasound test. Also that right around one month and a half to two months the child's eyes, eye lids, nose, mouth, and tongue have formed and by the eighth week, which is known as a fetus, has all of his organs and structure has developed (Moore and Persaud,The Developing Human).
