Abortion: Why Is It Wrong?

After reading the article, which was consist of statements, opinions and facts from a certain individual with regards to ‘ABORTION’, our opinions and knowledge about the said issue arouse. After our brainstorming, we became more concern about the society’s outcome for the next generations and we were a little more aware about the matter. Some consider abortion to be murder, since the being inside the mother is living. Thus, if it is living, it has the ability to grow, which is exactly what is going on inside a woman who is pregnant. ABORTION! Such thing is a crime and there is no logical excuse for an abortion! The killing of any human being including a human in the womb is so immoral, isn’t it? Murder is definitely wrong! Why should it be any different if said human was smaller and looked a little different? Don't you dare give me some crap of how it's 'not even an alive human yet’, or it's 'just a fetus, not a baby.' Come on! How often do you hear a pregnant woman say, "I love my fetus?" Tell me honestly… How often??? The answer is never. We are all for women having rights but I draw the line when someone else is being harmed. Depriving someone from his right to life, liberty and property is also a crime which is being stated in our 1987 Philippine Constitution under Art.III---The Bill Of Rights and whosoever who will go against the law will be liable to face the consequences of what he did. Some say there are so many excuses for abortion, but none of them make sense! It is you who decided to have sex, thus, therefore, you must take responsibility for your actions. Sex is for making babies! Nothing else! And I am very sure you already have that knowledge. So at least, practice safe sex! One excuse is that the mother can’t handle her baby financially and it would be too much work. Well, let me ask you, ‘would you be so heartless to kill your baby just because you can’t handle it?’, ‘would you be so heartless to kill an innocent human’s life?’ Another excuse is that the woman was raped. Ladies and gentlemen, please do not use rape as a legitimate argument. I strongly believe that there are around 20,000 women in this world each year who became pregnant after rape but yet there are millions of pregnancies performed each year. So what’s the excuse for the other 99% of abortions? Even some rape victims say that having baby after rape is an enjoying and relieving experience. It only means that abortion is not the way to go no matter you put it. If your husband or boyfriend or whoever you slept with isn’t willing to take care of the baby, then you should! Who knows if that baby is the next Aristotle or the next Nikki Minaj. You’ll never know! Don’t you ever give up or take the easy way out. Just let our Almighty God do what that guy deserve to have as his punishment. And for sure God will bless you all the way and He would be so happy for your decision. Abortion is ending a life! That’s it! It is no difference that executing a criminal. It's common sense that murder is immorally wrong. I agree that women should have the choice weather to have a baby or not. The question is, if a woman is acting responsibly or not if she chooses to have an abortion? If she is not then, is it morally correct that her unborn child should pay the price of her being irresponsible? I believe that we should have stricter rule when it comes to allowing abortion since we have a lot of guidelines for execution why can we have the same legal process when it comes to abortion. It’s kind of exhausting to keep on hearing out different people’s side when it comes to this very thing called ‘ABORTION’. For sometimes it would just make us fall into further confusions and produce headache. Some found it real good for the population’s sake but some also found it real bad for it is merely a crime to have killed someone who is, most especially a totally innocent human being. It is like killing all of humanity and which is certainly true to the highest extent. So, this time around, why not hear out ourselves, from the depth of our core saying a big ‘NO TO ABORTION!’ Don’t matter the millions of people saying yes. Let’s stand by our own points of view. We can have adoption as a very good solution for this. It is the appropriate method if you can't care for your child, not killing them. It’s better to live life as unselfishly as possible. If you are having sex, you are risking pregnancy, whether you use protection or not. If you take the risk, you should take unselfish responsibility for another life that you are responsible for creating. There are options if you are unable to keep the child. But the guilt will tear you apart. It is not the mom who will make the decision who dies and who lives. I have seen comments stating that the world is too cruel and over populated. People come and go. And bright minds like children are what cure the world and make it a better place. We have to think carefully to avoid fallacies. Let us consider this to be the slippery slope. Yesterday, it was contraception. Today it's abortion and same-sex marriage. Will it be widespread euthanasia tomorrow? Then what...? Once abortion is universally accepted, what logical arguments will stop euthanasia and other forms of murder and brutality?

From 1973 to 2015 the United States of America’s population increased by about 109, 533, 231. In that same amount of time, about 43, 800, 000 abortions took place (Lang). This statistic helps show that abortion has always been a problem, but only recently has became one on a national level with the two sides forming. One side, the Pro-Life one, wants laws that will help protect the fetus. The other side, the Pro-Choice one, supports the belief that abortion should be the choice of the mothers. “Abortion, in its many different forms, is when a pregnancy is ended; therefore, it does not result in the birth of a child (“What is”).”…

My first purpose in this study was to attempt an overview of the effects of liberalization of legal abortion-policy. Secondly we tried to explain the backgrounds of the abortion-problem. I made an investigation of factors leading to unwanted pregnancies and we looked for an answer to the question why so many people are opposed to abortion. The following general conclusions can be formulated. For the specific details I refer to the paragraphs in the class final project.…

Spontaneous abortions due to complications which can be developed during any stage of a pregnancy is an acceptable norm by both medical and non-medical professions alike and the term miscarriage is widely used. It is at the point of what is known as elective or therapeutic abortion that lines are crossed and drawn. Therapeutic abortion, which is carried out to save the mother’s life is more accepting to most people and religion. Elective abortion, on the other hand, magnates a world of opinion. It invokes moralistic and religious views of right and wrong.…

The main argument pertaining to abortion is whether or not a fetus is a "person" that is "indistinguishable from the rest of us" and if it deserves rights equal to women's. On this question there is a tremendous spectrum of religious, philosophical, scientific, and medical opinion, but it all really depends on who you ask. It's been argued for centuries. Fortunately, our society has recognized that each woman must be able to make this decision, based on her own conscience. To impose a law defining a fetus as a "person," granting it rights equal to or superior to a woman's, thinking, feeling, conscious human being, is not only arrogant but absurd. It only serves to diminish a woman's value. (Heritage House 76, Inc.)Under the view of pro choice supporters the embryo is not a baby since it can not survive and live outside the uterus since it receives everything needed to survive from the mother's body. In a sense the fetus dies but it was never living to begin with so it can not be considered an act of murder as pro-lifers would argue. More simply consider acorns and trees. (Robinson) Just as an acorn is a fertilized egg of the oak, that does not make it a tree. Sure it has the potential to become an oak tree, but it has not yet grown to that…

Abortion is a controversy that has been argued and fought about for decades. People ask whether it’s the body of the mother or the life of the child, who is in charge? The answer to that is simple. The mother is the one in charge of her body, but while being in charge of her body she engaged in intercourse and as a result there came a baby. Now, the baby is a person too, so going forward with abortion is indeed murder. There are at least three alternatives to abortion: parenting, adoption, and interim foster care (Abortion Alternatives). Most people claim that not everyone is ready to be a parent, and they are correct. However, as was said before there are other options than just being parent. There are options that wouldn’t be murder.…

Abortions are considered "the easy was out." I feel that abortions are just selfish. There is no easy way out. I could not imagine living with the guilt of taking another's life, especially the life of something that I created, and that is dependent of me. There are so many people out there that wish they had the chance to get pregnant. If you really feel that you are not ready to be a parent then you could at least give the baby up for adoption, and make your life, that babies life, and the family adopting the babies life a lot happier.…

Abortion has always been a controversial issue, possibly even more so after the 1973 case of Roe vs Wade where abortion became legalized in the United States. One of the main arguments against abortion has to do with the safety of the woman carrying the fetus. According to a variety of different medical reports and government agencies, first trimester aspiration abortions produce fewer and less serious complications than maintaining a pregnancy and giving birth (Dudley & Kruse, 2006). The article Safety of Abortion published on the National Abortion Federation website, gives a wide array of information on the low number and different types of complications that come from first trimester abortions and why it is so important to provide women with safe and legal abortion options.…
