Writing a Reflection – Scaffold

A reflection is a text type in which you are asked to think about a process you have gone through. In this reflection task you are being asked to think about and describe the process you went through to design and create your story.
You will need to:
Reflect on the purpose, audience and message of your story.
Reflect on the multi-media techniques you have used in order to make this story.
Use the following scaffold in order to construct your reflection:
Introduction
Begin by writing a paragraph that discusses the purpose, target audience and message of your story.
You may want to use some of the following phrases:
The message we were trying to convey in the story is…
The purpose of our story is to get young people thinking about the consequences of…
The intended target audience of our story is…
Body Paragraphs
You will need to write 2-3 body paragraphs. In each of your body paragraphs you will need to discuss why you used a particular type of multi-media technique.
You might, for example, write a paragraph on colour, a paragraph on camera angles and movement, a paragraph on sound and/or a paragraph on setting, props and symbols.
You will need to remember to give examples and discuss why you think each example is effective in conveying your message.
Example paragraph:
In our story we used lots of red and black in order to remind my audience about the connection between death and speeding. For example, in the last scene of our story we showed an image of a speeding black and red car. Black and red are often associated with blood and death. When the viewer watches the speeding car, we are hoping that the colours used will subtly remind them that this kind of reckless driving often leads to death. We think this use of colours will effectively convey our message about speeding to the target audience of teenage boys because, as we have learned from our study of Al Bino,
