Introduction:
The topic of Downsizing, which is defined as the process of reducing, usually dramatically, the number of people employed by the firm (Dessler, 2003), is talked and used by companies when faced with a decision to cut costs to maintain the company’s financial status especially when in times of Economic downturns. In the current trend and development of the world, this is a significant and common practice by companies when they encounter frequent slow businesses.
With downsizing, there’s always a after-effect for those affected by this decision of downsizing, it affects the emotions and health of those involved regardless of their age, gender, marital status and social status. The objective of this review is to analyse, evaluate, compare and co-relate the relations of health effects of the stayers, employees who stayed before and after the downsizing, and the leavers, employees who left leave the organization, with the issue of downsizing. In this article, I have concluded that the article has more of a negative evaluation rather positive.
Summary:
In this article, the authors’ have collaborated, evaluate and conclude their first study in the Human Health Trends between leavers and stayers, first it talks about the selective hypothesis of the studies from other author’s which have done separate articles on the two different groups. From there, it moves on to the methods and collection of the datas prior to the downsizing and after the downsizing and there they further analyse and describe the two groups the effects of the health.
