INTRODUCTION
The insertion of tooth colored restoration which are using luting material as an adhesive needed a proper Technique to obtain a perfect result regarding the marginal quality (I)
The Cerec system, which is the first commercially available. CAD-CAM system in dentistry allows the fabrication of Direct ceramic restoration in chairside one visit (2)
In addition to a rather time consuming insertion Technique, the CAD-CAM adhesive inlay also reduces the polymerization shrinkage which is associated with all adhesive restorations, by reducing the polymerization volume (3). The shrinkage of stress may deform the tooth thus leading to internal tension, drawing the base from the tooth leading to marginal gap formation, this polymerization strinkage depend on the ratio of the bonded surface to the free unbounded surface of a restoration this ratio called the configuration factor (4)
The high configuration factor reduces the polymerization stress compensation by the luting composite (5). This will effect the cement thickness and rigidity, also the adhesion efficiency ( 6,7 ).
In the particular case of bonded restorations, the theoretical high ratio between bonded and unbonded surfaces (high configuration factor) reduces the polymerization stress compensation by flow of the luting cement (5). This will emphasize the influence of other factors such as tooth deformation, cement thickness and rigidity, adhesion efficiency and development in relation to the polymerization time (8,9)
Feilzer (11) and Davidson (12) stated that a better marginal seal can be achieved by minimizing the amount of the composite and using the increment technique in composite fillings, they suggested that as soon as wall-to wall curing of composite occurs, as the case when either ceramic or composite inlays are adhesivly luted to the tooth, polymerization shrinkage does play an important rule. They reported that the principle is that a thin layer of

luting composite shrinks... [continues]
