A Christmas Carol
“A Christmas carol” is a marvellous film that teaches us how to believe in the beauty of life, how to bring the best out of everything, how to hope for a second chance and how to value the precious things we have. The name of the main character is Ebenezer Scrooge. He was certainly a man who didn’t appreciate what he had and didn’t understand the value of Christmas and family. He was known as a selfish, misanthropic and extremely cold person whose only interest were money. He didn’t care about the rest of the world because all that really mattered was his benefit. But however, another chance was given to him. His life changed once and for all the 25th of December, 7 Christmas Eves later his business partner Jacob Marley had passed away. That night surprised Mr. Scrooge in many ways.
First of all, Marley payed him a short visit because he wanted to warn him about the choices he would make in life. Scrooge was told to change his way of living before it was too late. Seeing marley in that poor condition, repented with chains that his greed had built, made Scrooge realize that he didn’t want to end up the same way. Marley came as a vivid mirror of what Scrooge’s afterlife consequences woulg be. He told Scrooge that three spirits would visit him that night. The first spirit was the ghost of Christmas Past who had the form of a candle and held an enormous candle snuffer for a hat. Through the journey they took together, it was clearly revealed his childhood and the reasons he had become the man he was. It was revealed how he felt alone, miserable, neglected and forgotten in his boarding school, how he sang Christmas songs all alone immersed in his solitude and how he was finally allowed to go back home by his father. Mr Scrooge saw how his sister with a lot of joy and relief told him the news of him having the possibility to get together with his family again.
