Zero Hour Paper
H. History Period 4
Zero Hour The order in which 9/11 happen started as a normal day in America with millions of people getting on planes, but on four planes no one knew terrorist were among the ones to get on the plane. Once the planes took off and headed toward the destination the planes were supposed to be heading a couple of terrorist including pilots killed the American pilots and took the planes over one by one. Shortly after taking over the plane the terrorist pilot would turn the plane toward its target which was one of the four, North or South World Trade Towers, Pentagon, or what we think was the next target the White house but instead a urban field. Then shortly after turning the planes around one by one they start hitting their targets starting with the North Tower at 8:46 am and ending with the urban field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania at 10:03 am. A big problem that the government experienced in trying to figure out what was going on, was lack of communication and knowledge of where the planes where. At one point the FAA didn’t even know what planes hit the Towers and which ones were still in the air hijacked. Another problem they experienced was not knowing were the planes were once the planes transmitter was off. President Bush had an emergency meeting right after the attack of the U.S. Bush said that terrorism is no longer just terrorism it is an act of war now, and who hides terrorist will also be treated like one. He also shortly after past the Patriot Act, which gave the President more power of sending troops to war. I believe that there will be another attack. I believe this because it took us 8 years to catch Bin Laden, who knows if he was planning another attack and in revenge of killing Bin Laden the terrorist carry out his plan on attacking America

The September 11 attacks were a series of suicide attacks by Al-Qaeda upon the United States. On the morning of the attacks 19 of Al-Qaeda’s terrorists hijacked four jet airliners. The hijackers then crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, killing everyone on board and many of those who were working in the buildings. Both of the buildings collapsed within two hours of the collisions. Because of the collapse nearby buildings were damaged, even destroyed. The hijackers crashed the third airplane into the Pentagon which is located in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth plane was crashed into a field near Shanksville in Pennsylvania after some of its passengers attempted to retake control of the plane. Unfortunately…

9/11 is thought to be the time terrorists hijack planes and crash them into 3 different building. The twin towers and the pentagon, also another was on its way to the white house when passengers took over and crashed it into a field. Well that’s what most believe. Some believe that because of the peculiar way the building fell that 9/11 might have been performed by our own country. Many people believe that the country performed that on ourselves to scare…

September,11,2001 there was a big tragedy that affected the whole United States. A group of 19 militants that are associated with Islamic terrorism from Saudi Arabia hijacked, and took control over four airplanes. Two planes were purposely crashed into the World Trade Center in New York. The hijackers had this all planned out on what they were going to do. After, the two planes headed towards the World Trade Center, the other two planes were headed towards the Pentagon and the White House, but these two planes luckily did not make it to their destinations they crashed in a Western Pennsylvanian field. The terrorists were Islamic ISIS, Saudi Arabia, and was not just these two groups of people the attack included seven more Arab nations. The…

The ones who were conducting this comprehensive research are USC professors Peter Gordon, James Moore and Harry Richardson. Al Qaeda planned this attack to be able to sabotage the United States economy, however they need more to be able to take down the United States. As David Pinsen says: “Al Qaeda meant to sabotage the U.S. economy with its attack on the World Trade Center, and 9/11 did wound the economy in the short term, but without the rate cuts and military spending that followed, we might have been in for our longest post-WWII recession at the beginning of the last decade, on the heels of our longest economic…

Unfortunately they did. After the bombing in the WTC, al-qaeda completed a series of attacks on both US soldiers and other groups outside the US. After being exposed for these deadly encounters, Bin laden is forced to leave Sudan, and he flees to Afghanistan. Now people are "awake" and aware of terrorism. Warnings started to go out, to alert people about this problem, especially in the US. Different areas of security reported some useful information that went under the radar because the Bush Administration chose to ignore them. These useful warnings were mostly by the FAA, or Federal Aviation Administration. They warned airlines about terrorists planning to hijack planes, up until just a few weeks before 9/11. Because of these human errors, 9/11 was a success. Something must have angered Bin Laden for him to go to the extreme. The first interaction between the US and Al-Qaeda was back in 1988, during the war against the soviet union. The US helped them to gain power over their land, and provided weapons for them. The main reason that Bin Laden was upset was because of the gulf war in 1991. Soldiers were sent to…

Bush. Bush was taken off guard when his chief of staff informed him that the United States was under attack. The Bush administration responded to the attacks on the world trade center by expanding presidential power through the aspect of national security. George W. Bush was questioned from the day he became president, but the response he gave after the attacks proved his legitimacy. After 9/11, Bush's leadership became a rallying point for the nation (Gregg). President Bush portrayed a new standing on foreign policy in response to the attacks taking place on September 11th, 2001: "Our war on terror begins with Al-Qaeda, but it does not end there. It will not end until every terrorist group of global reach has been found, stopped, and defeated.” Bush declared that the United States considered any nation that supported terrorist groups a hostile regime. President Bush referred to North Korea, Iran, and Iraq as the "Axis of Evil." He declared these countries as a threat to American…

On Tuesday, September 11th, 2001, the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history occurred as four large passenger jets were hijacked then crashed, killing nearly 3,000 persons. The attack was carried out by four separate teams of terrorists from the Middle East, all operating from inside the U.S. Each team had boarded an early-morning flight, posing as passengers, then forcibly commandeered the aircraft. Two fully-fueled jumbo jets, American Airlines Flight 11 carrying 92 persons and United Airlines Flight 175 carrying 65 persons, had departed Boston for Los Angeles. Both jets were diverted by the hijackers to New York City where they were piloted by the terrorists themselves into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. The impact and subsequent fire caused both 110-story towers…

The fourth plane was said to be heading for the White House or the U.S. Capitol. However, heroic passengers had stopped the hijackers and crash-landed the plane in an empty field in Pennsylvania. If it weren’t for those courageous passengers who decided to do something, things would have gone much worse. At approximately 5:20 pm, World Trade Center Building 7 had collapsed due to the heavy debris that had hit the building. The other four buildings were damaged. George W. Bush had stated after the attacks that, “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America.” He was right. After the attacks, Americans were closer than they had ever been. People helped strangers on the street and everybody felt the emptiness in their heart because of all the losses on one day. The attacks were financed by Osama bin Laden who attacked in retaliation of the United States support of Israel. Some of the terrorist involved had been in the country for more than a year and others slipped in before 9/11. They had taken flying lessons and chose those specific planes because they help great amounts of…

One of the major changes that were caused by the attack of 9/11 was the introduction to the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act gives the U.S. power to deter and punish terrorist acts in the U.S. and around the world. It was passed on October 26th, 2001, just forty-six days after the attacks on the twin towers and the pentagon occurred. The patriot act dramatically reduced restrictions on law enforcement agencies ' ability to search telephone, e-mails, medical, financial, and other records; eased restrictions on foreign intelligence gathering within the United States. Basically there was nothing off limits to government agencies such as the F.B.I., they were able to obtain any documents they felt necessary to fight terrorism. It also expanded the Secretary of the Treasury’s authority to regulate financial transactions, particularly those involving foreign individuals and entities; and broadened the discretion of law enforcement and immigration authorities in detaining and deporting anyone they thought to be a threat/ terrorist. To some people this kind of immediate reaction was something that was desperately needed to show some kind of action on the behalf of America- to show that U.S. was committed to ensuring that an…

It was just over fifteen years ago, when the United States (US) experienced one of the most horrific terrorists’ attacks ever carried out. The events of September 11th, 2001, saw two planes fly into the twin towers of the World Trade Center, one plane fly into the Pentagon, and another plane headed for the White House which was thwarted by the heroic efforts of the passengers on board. The events of this day brought the US to its knees, with massive loss of life, property, wealth, and sense of security. The US was crippled with fear, and President George W. Bush had to do something to show the US and the rest of the world that we would not allow terrorism to get the best of us. President Bush announced that…

On September 11, 2001, the world changed. It was said to be a beautiful day, almost perfect. Then in an instant, a plane smashed into one of the Twin Towers. The building instantly lit on fire and the whole city went into a panic. There was debris falling everywhere, and even six blocks away from the building, you could see dozens of papers raining down from the sky like ashes from a fire. Police officers and firefighters were constantly rushing in and out of the building, salvaging every single life they could. Most thought it was a freak accident, but some say they knew from the beginning. It seemed so tragic that nobody could imagine a person who would do something so horrible intentionally. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the second tower was hit.…

Some of the events leading up to the September 11th attack surprised me. Back in February 1993, there was an attempted attack on the World trade centers. The terrorists wanted to make them come crashing down and kill thousands of people by putting a bomb in the bed of a pickup truck and pulling it into the parking garage of the World trade centers. That attempt failed and just blew up a little of the bottom section of the…
