INTRODUCTION
# On this day, September 11, 2001; America went through a tragic change. The September 11 attack took place, where a series of coordinated suicide attacks by al-Qaeda on the United States. On the morning of this devastating day 19 al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial passengers jet airliners. The hijackers intentionally crashed the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. This preplanned disaster left everyone on board and several others that was working within the buildings dead. Both of the building eventually collapsed within two hours, destroying surrounding buildings and injuring others nearby. The hijackers then crashed the airliner into the Pentagon in Arlington, VA and the fourth plane crashed in a field near Shanks Ville. None of the passengers survived from any of the flights. About 3000 victims and 19 hijackers were killed.
The United States responded to the attack by launching the War on Terror, invading Afghanistan to depose the Taliban. This caused many other countries to strengthened their anti-terrorism legislation and expanded the law enforcement powers, Many Americans closed their stock exchange for weeks and excepted enormous losses.
Within hours of the attacks, the FBI was able to determine the names and some cases the personal background of the suspected pilots and hijackers. Mohamed Atta from Egypt, was the ring leader of the 19 hijackers. What was able to be recovered was paper work that was not destroyed was the identity connections to all 19 hijackers, This revealed the background, nationalities and the plans and motives. The attacks had a significant economic impact on the United States and world Markets, The Stock Market took an effect and jobs and wages were affected. There was a global financial crisis.
