Nestled deep within the Himalayan foothills, is the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Divided distinctly into three provinces, the deep running “Valleys of Kashmir, high mountains of Ladakh, and undulating running plains of Jammu. It is unique for having two seasonal capitals- Jammu in winter and Srinagar in summer. It is also the most picturesque and diverse state and is often referred to as the “Crown of India” Somebody calls Kashmir paradise on earth and somebody heaven in the world.

The Kashmir province has its own culture, landscape, flora and fauna, largely famous for its shikaras, Kashmir also has a rich heritage of gardens, Lakes and renowned thinkers.

Enchanting travelers, saints and poets over the centuries – splendor of the Valley of Kashmir remains to have an everlasting affair with the mankind. Sir Walter Lawrence writes “Valley is an emerald set in pearls; a land of lakes, clear streams, green turf, magnificent trees and mighty mountains, where the air is cool and sweet, where men are strong and women vie with the soil in fruitfulness.

STRENGTHS within J&K Tourism Department

      The department has its Headquarter at Srinagar known as Tourism Directorate, situated in Tourist Reception Centre, Srinagar having the following Administrative wings at Srinagar. The departmental structural is becoming more structured as compared to its past .The hierarchy is much more planned and drafted in much more better order of plan.
