Talent shows a person who possesses unusual innate ability in specific field or activity. With the increasing trend of globalization, talent has been a crucial fact of characteristics for people who want to be successful in the future. Gardner (2008) and Fernandez (2014) both pointed out that talent is an essential part to cultivate people to adapt the changeable future even with different aspects of talent. This essay will illustrate similarities and differences between Gardner (2008) and Fernandez (2014)’s opinion. The similarity will focus on the connection between creativity and curiosity and demonstrate why curiosity is the most important skill to build. It will also focus on different perspectives of what skills Gardner and Fernandez concentrate on.

According to Gardner (2008), people have to become more aware of the importance of cultivating disciplined minds, synthesizing minds, creating minds, respectful and ethical minds not only for our own career life but also for maintaining the world’s normal order. He elaborated the disciplined mind help people march partner’s tune while the synthesizing mind let you understand and evaluate things more objectively. As for the creating mind, it’s a new ground full of new ideas so that people can easily remain one step ahead of conservative. The respectful and ethical minds ensure to show basic respect to surroundings and keep you under moral standard. Keep minds viewed globally with basic capacity of learning things is able to survive and thrive during the coming era.

Fernandez (2014) pointed out that three main factors of the scarcity of talent are globalization, demographics and pipelines in the coming future.
