3 day Diet Analysis
3- Day Diet Analysis
In this paper I will be talking about my 3 day diet analysis. I will also be writing a 700 word essay of the final results. I will be describing my current eating habits. How does my diet compare to the recommendations that I received from the Food Guide Pyramid. Also telling you how many servings for each food group did I consume? Also how it might modify my diet by using the six classes of nutrients and the recommended servings for each food group what are some nutrient- rich foods you could add to your daily diet? I also be identify the six classes of nutrients and explain how this nutrients are affects current health. Lastly I will have conclusion paragraph describing what I have talked about in my essay. I will also be explaining how my new diet and nutrient will affect my current and future health.
My current eating habits are very horrible. I can say I prefer to eat cookies, hot chips, and drink juices all day. My eating habits different from some people cause I will eat one time a day then the rest of the day I will be eating junk food. I have gain over 30 pounds just eating junk food and have a stomach to prove it. My eating habits are like this, horrible, unhealthy, and can cause plenty of heart disease. Why, I say that is because I prefer junk food or sweets over regular food. That’s especially my eating habits which I not proud of them because my eating habits can be better than that.
How does my diet for Food Guide Pyramid? I had to eat 1800 calories but I ate more than that my calories was over 1800 it was 29 more points over so that means it was between 1829. I also didn’t eat any junk food that during those three days that I was doing my diet for Food Guide Pyramid. I ate more whole grains the most and whole fruit the least. I ate a lot of vegetables, and a lot of dairy products and proteins. Also but my calories was still over the item that I was supposed to eat. I had plenty of oils, saturated fat, and sodium which mean I had a limited of 5tsp of oils in my system. While with saturated fat I had limited of 20g and for sodium I had a limit of 2300mg. I ate 625 empty calories eaten. In my total calories eaten was 1829.
Servings:
Food Group
8/21/13
8/22/13
8/23/13
Whole Grains
2 oz.
5 ½ oz.
7 oz.
Vegetables
¼ cups
¼ cups
2 ¼ cups
Fruits
2 cups
1 cups
¾ cups
Dairy
¾ cups
0 cups
2 ¼ cups
Protein Foods
½ oz.
7 ½ oz.
2 oz.
Oils
5 tsp.
5 tsp.
5 tsp.

How might I modify my diet to use these six classes of nutrients and servings for each food group I will have to eat more vegetables, fruits, and dairy products? Why, because vegetables, fruits, and dairy products have more sodium, saturated fat, and total fat. Also, have more Vitamin A, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C and D. Nutrients that appear suck as protein, carbohydrate, linoleic acid, and a-linoleic acid are nutrients that have separate recommendations such as a lot of grams that can compare to minimum recommended intake Also the percentages of calories eaten from the nutrients that can be compared to a range. I have a couple of nutrient foods that I can add to my diet which are:
Greek Yogurt
Sweet Potatoes
Powerhouse Peanuts
Beans
Kefir
Vitamin C Rich Strawberries
Mushrooms
Pineapple
Pistachio Nuts
Sunflowers seeds
Crunchy Snack Popcorn

Identify the six classes of nutrients
The six classes of nutrients that we need to stay alive are water, carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, vitamins, and minerals.
Carbohydrates are included in fibers for example: cookies, cakes and carbonated beverages are high in sugars. Food that has high fibers and has low sugar tends to be higher in nutrient destiny, and contain more vitamins and minerals per calorie than low fiber, and high sugar foods.
Lipids are very important in nutrition because mostly they have cholesterol and saturated and unsaturated fats which consumers has a diet that is very high in cholesterol and saturated fats, from foods such as butter, milk, and meat they increase the risk of developing heart diseases.
Proteins are not a single substance why because they have thousands of different proteins in bodies and diets. All of these are made from amino acids. Amino acids are from animals with products that are better match for our needs from plants proteins such as grains and legumes.
Water is unlike other nutrients classes, they have only one member. Water makes up to about 60% of an adult body weight. The other half comes from the water stored in our body losses that can be replaced by a water diet. Body water acts has lubricant, a transport fluid, and regular body temperature.
Vitamins are small organic molecules that must be consumer in every diet to maintain a healthy body. There are 13 different vitamins an each one provides a unique function in the body maintaining vision to help blood clots.
Minerals are inorganic elements like vitamins they are needed for a variety of functions such as keeping our bones strong and transporting oxygen in our blood. Vitamins and minerals are almost foods we eat every day such as: breakfast cereals we eat often almost 100% that we intake from many vitamins to add to them.
My current diet is over with I am now focusing on losing more weight and have a light diet and not an unhealthy one. I will be cutting off junk food, and a lot of sodium I will also be excursing more and regular for 30 minutes or more. I will be trying to eat a meal everyday with at least 5 of the pyramid guide. I am going to try to it less sodium and look at the nutrients facts table on the back of any foods I eat to see if it’s healthy for me. My new diet is going to healthy and very excellent. Why, because I am doing something for me and my body that will keep me health and don’t have to worry about heart disease and other problems with my bones, and blood. In conclusion, I have talked about the six classes of nutrients and I explain the intake effects of current health’s I have also made a graph of my servings for the past 3 days and I have explain what my new diet would be like and I have also gave examples of the nutrient- foods that I could start using in my daily diets. During this essay I have gave some out-standing examples and facts about my current eating habits an my eating habits now what I’m going to start eating an what I’m not going to eat I am proud of my new eating habits cause it lets me know how many calories I am eating an also how much fats are in my body.

A term that is used to encompass nutrient recommendations produced by the National Academy of Sciences and the Food and Nutrition Board is called Dietary Reference Intakes (DRI). DRI is also a common term for a guideline of reference values used to assess and plan a healthy individual’s nutrient intake (Wardlaw et. al., 2011, p. 60-61). During a consecutive three-day period, protein intakes, carbohydrate intakes, lipid intakes, macronutrient intake ranges, fiber intake ranges, and dietary modifications are recorded and analyzed in iProfile.…

The results for my new diet when compared to the recommendations from the SuperTracker are very bad indeed. I am not eating enough grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy or protein foods. An average for the amount of grains I consumed was 6 and a half ounces which is 2 servings each of these days. I consumed one and a half cup of fruits and vegetables which is about 2 servings on Saturday. I did not eat any other fruit during this three day period. I also consumed a quarter cup of dairy. From the proteins foods group, I consumed 2 and a half ounces and from the oils groups which is not a serving at all, but when this measured is about 2 teaspoons.…

For this three day diet analysis project I wanted to eat as I normally would and be honest about all that I ate, to analyze not only what and how much I was eating, but also to see how healthy my diet really is. By doing so I can see if any of my diet choices are putting me at risk for certain health diseases, and what changes can be made to make my diet healthier. After analyzing my diet, I would say I am fairly healthy, though I am out of the target range in a few areas. My profile calculated from my weight and height indicates that I have a BMI of 20.5. This is considered to be healthy; the healthy range is anywhere between 18.5-25. This was reassuring to hear because I am happy at my current weight, and would not like to make any major changes.…

According to the food pyramid, my diet is horrible considering what I have consumed in these 3 days. It shows that I need to start eating more, and better quality foods. My sugar intake is too high and should be reconsidered. Possibly I could swap out processed sugars for natural sugars; such as in fruit. It is obvious from the records I have provided that I do not take in as much (if any) fruit that one should be consuming on a daily basis. Thus, not only am I depriving myself of vitamins, I am also depriving myself of the fiber needed in order for my digestive system and metabolism to work as necessary. I will have to incorporate more whole grains with fruit and vegetables to act as roughage, as going to the bathroom proves difficult for me- most likely this is why.…

According to the recommendation of the DRI and compared to my intake of protein, carbs, and lipid I failed to meet 100% percent of the minimum standards. I was less than 50% DRI for most of the nutrients. In fact only one out of the 35 nutrients only surpassed or reached 50%. I personally think that I need to consume more meals with adequate healthy nutrients. I would need to add more vegetables, fruits, and oils to my diet so I can achieve my goals. My calorie DRI was almost 4,000 and I just consumed 18% or almost 700 calories.…

My Pyramid was not that shocking, when I saw Grains, fruits, vegetables, milk, meat, and bean intake compared to the recommendation. Personally, it made sense of what I was meeting and what I was missing, yet, have done nothing about it. I love my grains, even though I am a celiac. I do not really follow the guidelines and still chose to eat a lot of grains. This was at 10. Oz and I met the required intake for grains. The vegetables I tend to eat are broccoli, carrots, and from time to time I eat cauliflower. So, I was at 1.2 cups of vegetables compared to the recommended intake of 4.0 cups. I already knew I hardly reach the fruit intake that happened to be zero percent. I have never been a big fruit person, besides eating apples to keep the doctors away. Got milk? Of course, I always drink my milk when I eat all the grains out of the cereal bowl. Thus, I was at 1.5 cups compared to 3.0 cups of the recommended intake. Lastly, meat and beans I was at 5.5 oz and cheated, because I ate at taco bell! Overall, the above groups did not surprise me and did show me how far I still was to reaching the food-list compared to the latest USDA Dietary guidelines.…

I have been using myfitnesspal.com to track my eating habits. When I set up my profile I chose to stay under 1870 calories a day. My plan is to eat healthier and to lose weight so that my overall health improves. As I stated above, I am tracking my calories, proteins, fats, sugars, sodium, and carbohydrates each day. I have also been keeping track of my daily water intake. It is recommended that you drink 8 cups of water each day and I have been drinking about 5-6 cups of water a day. So, I do need to be consuming a bit more water each day. My daily calorie intake has been good; I have stayed under everyday but one since I started tracking my diet two weeks ago. Today I have…
