The role of my job is as a Communications store man within the Royal Engineers, and my responsibilities are to maintain the communications equipment within my Sub unit, to make sure that the paperwork for maintaining the equipment is correct, I am able to source this information from my units Equipment care directive, and defence intranet web sites, and I also make sure that all reports are complete and handed into my line manager on time. As a teacher my role would be to carry out an initial assessment of my teaching environment, induct the learner to the course, identify what needs to be taught by myself so that my students will be able to gain full benefit from the subject they are learning, the best way to implement this is to use the teaching/ training cycle, which would be broken down into five sub headings: Identify Needs; with a new group of learners it is appropriate to start by identifying their needs, different styles of learning, visual, kinaesthetic and aural, and in order to know which method(s) to use to benefit my students the first lesson will centre around discussions on what they already know, what resources I use that they are familiar with, and a learning style questionnaire which will give me an insight into how each student is best able to learn. ‘You will have professional boundaries within which to work and it’s important not to overstep These, and as a teacher I must remain professional and maintain confidentiality, and be aware
