Leonardo DiCaprio once said, “The best thing about acting is that I get to lose myself in another character. It's a great outlet. I'm not really sure who I am - it seems I change every day.” To portray an actor/actress from the movie Wuthering Heights, based on the novel by Emily Bronte, one must be devoted to their trade, dedicated in every way and a most serious actor. The characters are so complex and difficult to understand, let alone play. Actors have to lose themselves in their work and be able to properly mimic the raw emotions that Heathcliff, Catherine Linton, and Cathy Earnshaw exhibit in order to be considered for this 21st Century version of Wuthering Heights. There are only three people who could possibly be right for these roles.
Heathcliff appears dark and dangerous in the plot. Sam Claflin, an up and coming actor soon to appear in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, may not be the most qualified actor or best known, but as someone who is trying to make a name for himself he would work hard to be sufficient and do an exceptional job. New to the acting world, he has the fresh innocent personality of a brand new actor, but the will as well. His look also makes him look like a good Heathcliff. He has dark hair and a certain aura about him that makes him seem debonair.
Catherine Linton is a hard role to fill, but with all her credentials, Jennifer Love Hewitt would fit the part. She is best known for her work in Ghost Whisperer, and also known for her part in Garfield and I Know What You Did Last Summer. She is a talented actress who strives to do her best to fulfill her role as well she can. When she acts, you can feel the emotions that she gives off. Her pain makes you hurt, when she cries, you cry. She digs so deep into her characters it is as if she is one with them and that she has never been anyone else. She has also won nine awards and been nominated for twenty four different awards.
