My Decision to Pursue an MBA

      My Jungian 16-type Personality Assessment suggests: I have what is referred to as an INTP type personality. It says that I am socially cautious; I enjoy problem solving and am highly conceptual. My possible career could be as a plastic surgeon, software designer, psychoanalyst, private investigator, financial analyst, mathematician, or photographer. I have to say, this is not an incorrect assessment of me. I have in fact wanted to do, with the exception of being a mathematician because I do personally hate math; all these things. I am a mother of three young, beautiful, and highly impressionable boys. I believe parental social standing has a major impact on educational attainment and influences the later opportunities of offspring in life through the educational channel.   Education is becoming the main determinant of social success. Children from families of a higher social status receive better education, and it is for this reason they obtain better jobs, bigger salaries, and higher social prestige (Blasko' & Robert', 2007). I believe whole heartedly in this and it is for this reason that, I’ve decided to pursue a Master’s of Business Administration degree to assist me with my entrepreneurial   aspirations.   I didn’t descend from a wealthy family but the most successful individuals in my family are all college educated and beyond. I don’t want to confuse my words, this is not to say that everyone that one has to obtain a degree to be successful because there are many that are and have no degree. I am simply saying the percentage of individuals in my family that are well established is around 80% compared to the 20% of successful individuals in my family without degrees. This is merely an estimate based on some of my own definitions of success which; own your own home, being free of heavy debt, being able to frequently travel for leisure, living your life free with minimal financial burdens, and etc.   According to the National...
