The Twin Towers were more than just buildings.They were a symbol of capitalism, a symbol of America’s wealth. Most importantly, the buildings were a workplace to roughly 50,000 Americans. The scariest part is that in only 102 minutes all this was destroyed. A strong country was ripped apart and changed forever. Millions of families were left in horror on this day. Innocent people had lost brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, cousins, friends, and even sons and daughters. September 11, 2001 was the day that changed America economically, socially, politically, and militarily. Its the day that no one will ever forget. Jim Dwyer and Kevin Flynn interviewed hundreds of people to piece together what happened inside and outside during those devastating one hundred two minutes. When the 9/11attack occurred I was very young, but this book really helped me to understand exactly what happened on this day and the drastic times people went through because of the attack. I think that this book wasn't really intended for my generation, but for anyone who wishes to read it. The main purpose of this book is to inform people about what occurred on September 11, 2001 from the inside looking out. This book recounted the days events in such a thorough and elaborated manner. I feel that the message of the book was really affective on the audience, especially on people who had family members pass away from the attack. They want to know exactly what their loved ones went through, and by reading this book you will feel as if you were there on this tragic day. Ethos is an appeal to ethics, it means convincing someone of the character or credibility of the persuader. Jim Dwyer and Kevin Flynn used a lot of historical data and records in this book.
