On Sunday at 1400 I was given a random command room inspection. I failed that room inspection because I had food left over from the night before and my gear not locked away in my closet. Due to failing this random room inspection I violated article 92 failure to obey a lawful order or regulation. As a sailor living in the unoccupied housing I am held to the minimum standard of living in the barracks. We are not held to a very high standard. all we are held to is to make sure the mirrors are clean, trash is taken out if its full, floors are moped, carpet is vaccumed, beds are made, our desks are organized, our nightstands are clean, the toilets are clean, and theres no funk in the tubs. Its not hard to make sure all these are clean. It could be a lot worse and make us do what the marines do and bleach everything and have everything spotless and or white glove inspection ready. It’s important to live by the navy standard of living because we are not living in our own houses, and we have to share the room with a fellow shipmate. When the BPOs came into my room they questioned me with “do you like living in this situation?” I couldn’t respond because I knew I was in the wrong and that I should have kept my room clean at all times because the BPOs like to check our rooms when we least expect it. For example they check our rooms before 1400 while we have a day sleeper chit, when we are in the shower, when we are getting out of the shower and getting dressed so on and so forth. There is no excuse on why my room was messy because I had more than enough time to clean my room before they came in to inspect my room. As well as failing my room inspection I failed my roommate because he is trying to move out of the barracks and into a flat out in town and with this failure on the room inspection this will slow down the process of him moving out. As well as I failed my second classes because they fight for us every day so we don’t have to deal with most of the nonsense from
