Fresh out of the pen, rapper “T.I.” has to be feeling pretty awesome. T.I. completed his 11-month prison sentence this past Thursday, and now he’s making strides towards getting back to business as usual. What else can he do besides take one step forward?
He was born in September of 1980 in Riverdale, Georgia, but grew up with his grandparents in Atlanta, Georgia. Despite his run-ins with the law, T.I. has always had a talent for rapping. Since those early days, he has enjoyed wild success over the years including: seven studio album releases, Grammy Award wins, film debuts, and more. Despite being released last week, T.I. has hit the ground running. His first track after his prison stay, “I’m Flexin’,” was released the a day after he got out. I’m Flexin’ features Big K.R.I.T., who’s debut album will be released next year.
Now, T.I. can add author to his list of accomplishments. In an urban fiction novel set in Atlanta, Georgia, “Power & Beauty: a Love Story of Life on the Streets” will be released on October 18th, 2011. Adding to his list of collaborations, T.I. combined forces with best-selling celebrity collaborator, David Ritz. The novel chronicles a young man nicknamed “Power,” who decides to learn the ways of a local business man in order to make something of himself and catch the eye of a young woman, “Beauty.” The novel promises a mix of streets, love, and perseverance. When you get bored with reading for class or you’ve finished all your research papers, Power & Beauty should provide some great drama to take your mind off the pressures of school.
