March has finally arrived! The weather should be warming up soon, Spring Break is coming up, and you should be feeling in better spirits than earlier in the winter. In addition to all the Spring Break excitement, March is also the most coveted time of the year for basketball fans. Yes, March has arrived and with it comes March Madness. Although not everyone is overly enthusiastic about the upcoming NCAA basketball tournament, it does give people a reason to party. Who doesn’t love a good party?
Show your school spirit.
Go ahead- get lost in the moment. The big dance is an exciting time for sports fans and an exciting time for your school if they’ve made it. Having a team in the NCAA tournament means you have another excuse to paint your face, wear silly outfits and get together with your friends. Make a trip to the bookstore and buy some new gear for game day. You could even make a t-shirt to match the jersey of your favorite player!
Throw a party.
This is a no-brainer. As long as there have been sports, there have also been people watching them. Competition is infectious- so capitalize on the hype and throw a party to celebrate the tournament. Everyone loves theme parties, so have people dress up like their favorite player, or make the costumes more random and wild. Maybe have your own mini tournament on game day with a yard game or other fun activity.
Make a bracket.
Selection Sunday is March 11th and the brackets will be set for the tournament. Although hardcore gambling is not advised, filling out a bracket and having some healthy competition between friends can be fun. The NCAA tournament usually brings out the best in teams and you never know who is going to pull the big upset. Will your bracket be conservative? Will there be tons of upsets or will the bracket be pretty straight forward? Make your picks and watch the games with your friends to find out!
Who do you think has a shot to win the title? Are you going to any of the games?
