Google is sending out invites to students to use Google Voice. Just like when gmail first appeared and it was invite only, Google Voice is following suit. The service takes your voicemails and transcribes them into emails or texts. For students attending class- this makes messages much easier to receive. Plus, who wants that annoying voicemail icon on their phone anyways.

Way to go Google for targeting that ever-impressionable student market once again.

To get an invite go to google.com/voice/students and enter a valid .edu email address. Sorry folks- this one is for US residents only.
