Description of the Business
Alicia’s Cafe will be a Sole Trader business. It will provide a variety of beverages, juices and sandwiches. The land, which is half lot, (50 feet x 25 feet) was previously owned by Alicia’s aunt, and as such has now been given as a ‘Deed of Gift’ to Alicia.

The Cafe will feature seating for approximately 30 patrons and patio seating for an additional 20 patrons. The business will provide a full service dine-in, carry-out and delivery service of beverages, juices and pastries. There would be ample parking facilities for customers.

The facility’s perimeter will feature a simple garden and an array of flora which will contribute towards a comfortable ambience. Magazines and Newspapers will also be available for purchase.

Mission Statement: “Our goal is to provide the highest quality, best service, at affordable prices to all our customers.”

Role of the Entrepreneur
This business has one entrepreneur Mrs Alicia Marcano. She has the combined skills required to organize, operate, control and ensure that the business grows and become successful.

She has to come up with new ways of completing old tasks and also with fresh ideas and techniques. She takes risks of creating new products and looks for markets for her products. She has to motivate all employees, and offer education and training to enhance productivity of workers.

On a daily basis several checks would have to be done. Oven temperatures, gas levels, water levels and all raw materials will be checked for freshness.

Final products will be tasted and the cleanliness of the café will be looked after daily. This would allow for high standards of excellence.

Types of Production
This type of production is an example of secondary production. Here, raw materials will be converted into finished goods. After obtaining the raw material, the equipment will be able to produce the following:-

Fruit Juices- Wild Watermelon, Pink Lemonade, Guava Grape, Cherry Jubilee, Blue Bubble Gum, Orange Mango, Raspberry Red, Luscious Lime, Bodacious Banana, Tamarindo, Melon and Papaya Hot Cocoa drinks- French Vanilla Cocoa, White Chocolate Cocoa, Chocolate Truffle, Cocoa Holiday Spice, and Cocoa Peppermint....
