My Summer Vacation

The summer vacation of a young kids lifetime! In the summer of 2000 I was just turning 6 years old and for my birthday my parents wanted to take me somewhere that I would always remember for my birthday. I had no clue on what there intentions where or what to even expect from them. My mother invited just about all of my close relatives and friends to come over and help celebrate with us. Majority of everybody that came over brought food, gifts and lots of money. I was the happiest kid in the world! Everybody that came over spent the night for the trip that my parents where going to take us on the following day.

The following morning my parents woke everybody up at 5 o’clock in the morning to get situated and ready to hit the road. They had everything planed out from the time that we was going to leave to how many pit stops that we where going to take. But yet each and every time I asked them where are we going they would never answer me. Anxious to know I was, so I started thinking of all the possibilities of the places that we could be going. From how early I woke up and all of the thinking I was doing I started to get drowsy. After leaving the house at 5 o’clock a.m. we finally arrived at our destination around 10a.m.. I woke up from a lot of screaming and yelling I had absolutely no clue on what was going on at the time. As my dad was trying to find a parking spot I started to look out the window in search of any clues that could help me figure out where exactly we where. Once we pasted the entrance my eyes blew up when I saw the words Wild Adventures. After seeing all the of the commercials with the amazing animals, rides, concerts, toys, and food this was the place that I would give the world to go to and to have it come true meant the so much. When asked by my parents how do you like your birthday present I was at a lost of words all I could do I smile!

Spring break is supposed to be a great time from the second it begins, until the second it ends. Now there is always that boring time it takes to get to wherever you may be going no matter how far that may be it is always the least fun of the entire vacation. My last spring break’s car ride happened to be the least fun by far of any trip I have taken up to this point in my life.…

I was lucky enough to be able to fly out to New York City, and experience things kids my age generally are not able to experience. It was amazing! Although we only stayed for a couple days, we were able to do much with the time we had. My family and I reached the top of the Empire State Building, walked about central parked, ate pizza, and much more. The hotel was beautiful, but we stayed in a tight room which my four family members and I could hardly fit in.…

The school had made an announcement that said that our senior trip had been accepted and that it would be on May 15th and it would only last three days. It was August 4th, and there was a total of almost 260 days until the trip of a lifetime would arrive. I was counting down the days that would eventually lead up to the trip of a lifetime. The trip was four days away and I was excited as ever, this is the first thing I have done on my own, this is finally a sense of freedom for…

“Wait up you two!” my dad exclaimed, but I barely heard him because it seemed like he was a mile away. My brother and I started out on a twisty ride that would eventually turn us upside down. The line was very blunt, and in about 15 minutes, I found myself plopping down in the comfy seat of the ride. The ride started by pointing straight down and proceeded right into the 360 degree turn. After that thrill of a lifetime, we went on the whole day shopping and going on as many thrilling rides as we could, while also looking at all of the amazing other things the park had in store for us. At around 8:30 P.M, just an hour before it closed, my dad decided that it was time to leave and go back home. I found myself staring up at all of the amazing things, and begging my dad if we could come back one…

When I was younger I went with my best friend Macy to Universal Studios in Orlando Florida. I had already been down in Florida when we met up. I got there around two days before her and I was visiting my grandparents and going to Walt Disney World for Fourth of July. Sadly, we were only going to Universal Studios for one day. When we arrived at the park we were so excited. We jumped on as many rides with small lines as we could since we got there early. Our first ride was on Harry Potter, and it was the worst one. They shoved you onto the ride since it was moving. There wasn't enough room for the ride with our parents for both of us. They tried to put me onto it but I wasn't leaving her. So they got irritated but I didn't care. In the end of…

Long stretch of summer vacation is one of the arguments that some parents and educators are arguing about. They say that the school year should be changed so that there wouldn’t be a 10-week summer break. But for me the school year should not be changed. Students should still have 10-week summer break. Students are just humans they also need to rest and relax even just for 10-week. 10-week summer break is the time for students to enjoy and have a fun time with their family. Summer is for students for them to relax, be productive, and enjoy more quality time with their family.…

Do you remember that feeling you'd get on the last day of school? Remember how excited you'd be to finally get to do those summer things like ride bikes with your friends, stay up all night planning pranks, and chasing down the ice cream man after dinner? These are just a few of my favorite memories from those long summer days. Now picture this. It's a beautiful July day, perfect to spend a few lazy hours by the pool, but instead you'll be in school. Okay, sure you could come home and relax in the sun or take a walk with the kids next door. Think again, you'll have homework to do and tests to study for. But when will you have time to be a kid? That's what I'm questioning.…
