Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental process, encompassing not just what people do but their perceptions, thoughts, emotions, memories, attitudes and every biological activities that maintain bodily functioning. -Psychologist try to describe explain and predict behavior and mental processes and help to change and improve the lives of people and the world in which they live.

Subfields Description Behavioral geneticsBehavioral genetics studies the inheritance of behavioral traits. Behavioral neuroscienceBehavioral neuroscience examines the biological process of behavior. Clinical psychologyClinical psychology is concerned with the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental disorders. Clinical neuropsychologyClinical neuropsychology is concerned with the applied science of brain-behavior relationships which are focusing on the relationship between biological factors and psychological disorders. Cognitive psychologyCognitive psychology is the study of higher processes how people perceive, remember, think, speak, solve problem, judging, decision making and language. Counseling psychologyCounseling psychology focuses primarily on educational, social and career adjustment problems. Cross-cultural psychologyCross-cultural psychology investigates the similarities and differences in psychological functioning in and across various cultures and ethnic groups. Developmental psychologyDevelopmental psychology examines the systematic psychological changes, emotional changes and perception changes that occur in human being over the course of their life span.
