Introduction

ACT HEALTH ACT Health is a vibrant and committed organisation that attracts some of our best and brightest people who support values that allow for the provision of high quality health care. In return, ACT Health provides a workplace environment that supports and equips people to perform within a system that is complex and constantly evolving. ACT Health incorporates The Canberra Hospital, Calvary Health Care ACT, Community Health, Mental Health ACT, Population Health and Central Office. It employs over 4000 people in a wide range of occupations covering professional, scientific, technical, clinical, administrative areas and patient support services. It provides a range of coordinated health care services to improve the well-being of the ACT community and surrounding southern area of New South Wales. The total population within this area is around 500,000 people. ACT Health is also responsible for local, regional and national health policy development, aimed at making our health system work better.

These capabilities include not only the technical skills and knowledge people have but also their attributes, attitudes and behaviours.

It fosters the sharing of information within a supportive and collaborative culture whereby problems are explored openly and diversity is appreciated. Reflective practice is encouraged to develop a work environment that is flexible, adaptive, productive and well positioned to meet future demands.
