Online Hostel Reservation System
ABSTRACT
Since the education system are increasing day by day and many students who are schooling in universities are looking for accommodation in universities hostel and hence there is a lot of strain on the person who are managing the hostel and the system they are currently using are not helpful to him/her. This particular project deals with the problems on managing a hostel and avoids those problems which arise when carried manually. The drawbacks of the existing system will be identified and this leads to designing of an Online Hostel Reservation System that will be compatible to the existing system and will be more users friendly and will overcome the drawbacks of the existing system.
The advantage of a proposed system is that:
· Less human error occurred
· Strength and strain of manual labor can be reduced
· High security
· Data redundancy can be avoided to some extent
· Data consistency
· Easy data updating
· Easy record keeping
· Backup data can be easily generated
INTRODUCTION
This system is designed in favor of the hostel matron, management and student which help and makes it easy for the student to reserve a hostel for their accommodation and will help matron and management to save the records of the students about their rooms and other necessary details. It helps them from the manual work in which it becomes very difficult to find the record of the student, the dues of the students, and the information of those students who had left the hostel. Currently the hostel is managed manually by the matron by using a Microsoft Excel Software. The Registration form verification to the different data processing is done manually. Thus there are a lot of recurrences of data which can be easily avoided. And hence there is a lot of stress on the matron and software are not usually used in this framework.
