Twilight
A Novel by Stephenie Meyer

-------------------------------------------------
I. Character/Characterization
*Main Characters * Isabella Swan
Isabella, who prefers to be called Bella, is a 17-year-old girl. She leaves Phoenix, Arizona to live with her father in Forks, Washington so her mother can travel with her new husband. She meets Edward Cullen in Forks High School and is immediately attracted to him. She later confesses to Edward what she has learned about him, which he admits to; they venture into their forbidden love, with Edward fighting against his thirst for Bella's blood. Bella has a kind and awkward personality that is more mature than most girls her age. She is highly intelligent and observant, noticing and then formulating theories about the Cullens' strange behaviors, physical features, and unusual abilities. At the novel's beginning, Bella finds, "the hardest part is making a decision, but once the decision is made, [she] can easily follow." As the novel progresses, Bella unconsciously learns how to make difficult choices and accept their consequences. * Edward Cullen
Edward Cullen, born Edward Anthony Masen, is a major character, implicated in all of the Twilight Saga films and books. As stated in the first and second novels, he was born on June 20, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois, and was frozen in his 17-year-old body while dying of the Spanish influenza, when he was changed into a vampire by Dr. Carlisle Cullen in 1918. As shown in Twilight, he only did so because Edward's dying mother, Elizabeth, begged him to save Edward. A member of the Olympic Coven, Edward only drinks animal blood and has the special ability to read minds. When he met Bella, he was immediately attracted to her because her thoughts are unreadable to him, and also to her strongly appealing blood scent. Edward tries to avoid Bella for her own safety, but fails. He notices Bella's attraction

Ridley Scott’s Alien provides us with one of the most basic and primal super-objectives: the preservation life. Our protagonist, Ellen Ripley, faces impossible odds as a seemingly invincible alien predator wreaks havoc on the crew of the Nostromo, taking them out one by one until she is the last man (or in this case, woman) standing. In most every horror, or as Blake Snyder would call it, “Monster in the House” film, the super-objective is to preserve life. Some, however, are more successful than others in conveying that idea, and Alien is perhaps the most triumphant of the bunch. The screenwriter, Dan O’Bannon, heavily juxtaposed the frailty of man with the invincibility of the alien. Neither bullets, nor electricity, nor fire can harm the creature, while it possesses a variety of methods of attack, from corrosive blood to razor sharp teeth. Therein lies the strength of the film’s super-objective: though the alien could easily kill them all, Ripley fights to survive.…

Edward has pale white skin, dark bronze colored hair; his eyes are in a light brown shade that can change color. He is tall and kind of skinny; he always wears jeans with a fitting shirt and a nice jacket. A small town by the name of Forks, which was in the state of Washington, is where he lives. The sun is always hiding behind what always seemed to be a cloudy sky. The rain comes and goes as the cold continues to stay in this small town. The house that Edward lives in is very big and beautiful; he is always there or in the huge forest that is located right behind his house when he is not at school. His home is the only place he feels he does not have to hide or try to be someone that he is not. He is always near what was now called his family; he felt safe with them by his side. Edward is a seventeen year old young man and he has been ever since his life was changed. The pain he suffered from makes him who he is today. He was practically dead when someone by the name of Carlisle came and saved his life, but once he was saved he was not normal. He is what people call a “vampire.” His family has all been human at one point in their life just like him. He is not like anyone of his kind; he is incredibly strong, very fast, can read anyone’s mind except Bella’s (his girlfriend), and he has a strong sense of smell. Who is this Bella? She is the only weakness involved in…

In my opinion, the main idea of the story, "The Destructors" by Graham Greene is that when humans let their own personal feelings get in the way of doing what is right, it leads to a feeling of detriment and dissatisfaction. Also the Wormsley Common Gang chose poor decisions that affected their innocence throughout the entire story. These poorly made decisions took away their youth innocence and replaced it with selfishness and destruction. In the story, Trevor, or as his gang called him, "T." desperately wants to destroy Mr. Thomas's house by completely destructing it from the inside, out in an organized fashion. T. and the rest of his loyal gang members are young and immature, with no regard…

One way Meyers reveals the mood of suspense is through the story’s plot. One main conflict of the book is Bella becoming pregnant. The baby inside of her is half vampire and because of that, it is unusually strong just like any other vampire. The baby also grows inside of her at an abnormally quick rate. “The baby [was] kicking my ribs apart, breaking her way through me, piece by piece..”(376). The baby is literally ripping Bella apart because of its rapid growth rate combined with its strength. It is becoming very big and it has no room inside of her. Bella is only human and too weak to carry such a strong baby. Soon, it will have chewed its way out of her, leaving her dead. The only…

The previous leader of the gang, Blackie, loses his position when Trevor develops a superior plan for the gang’s activities. Nowadays most people, or at least most teenagers, know a series called Twilight written by a American author named Stephanie Meyer. The last book in the series is called Breaking Dawn, which is getting released as a motion picture in November 2012, while the book was released in August 2008. The twilight series revolves around one major idea: a love story between a human and a vampire. The first three books tells the story of how the lovers – Isabella (or Bella), the human and the dashing 100-year-old vampire called Edward Cullen – met and how they went through many obstacles to continue to be together. The main obstacle is that they are different creatures and it is forbidden in vampire law to be with a human. The fourth and last book, leads the Twilight Saga into its ultimate finale, Breaking Dawn begins with another preface in which our narrator, Bella, once again faced with death. This time, though, it's a person she loves who's about to kill her. She decides that her love for that person leaves her no choice but to sacrifice her life.…

I knew that “Twilight” will be my favorite movie when I saw it I was completely in love with the movie. The film is based on a novel “Twilight” written by Stephen Mayer and there are 3 more parts of book,” New Moon”, “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn”. I read them all of course and those are my favorite books. The movie is about a teenage girl Bella and her boyfriend Edward. Edward is a vampire. It’s a beautiful love story like no other: completely different. I’m sure that there will never be a story like this. That’s something what every girl dreams about, a perfect boyfriend who would do anything for her. And I think that the fact that he’s a vampire is so cool. But I don’t like this movie just because it’s a love story, I like it because of Edward. I already said that I love the fact that Edward is a vampire. Il like his superhuman powers. He can read other peoples mind, he’s cold, he can run fast, he’s so strong. I would like to have all of that. But it’s a love story, love story between a girl and a vampire. That’s the sweetest thing.…

    The English Restoration

The Restoration was a revolutionary period for both history and literature. Before the Restoration period began, England was under rule of the Protectorate. They believed in strict Puritan law. Under this law, Protestants and Jews were accepted, but they would not accept the Episcopalians or Roman Catholics. There was one man who acted as the dictator of England, and that was Oliver Cromwell. Things were conducted in a very traditional way. At this point in time people were getting very tired of the Puritan regime. They were tired of being treated unfairly by the government (Fletcher). The literature at this time was somewhat strict. Most of the writers wrote in a very simple style that created complex images. Not many authors ever thought of writing outside the form of that day. Many writers of the time wrote plays, but were unable to have them acted out because the Puritans closed all of the theaters, believing that theaters were evil places (Merritt 245). This Puritanical order only lasted eighteen years.…
