My LCI scores are Sequence 26, Precision 26, Technical Reasoning 18, and Confluence 23.
I think that our differences in our learning styles is what makes us get along so well. The fact that we don't do things the same way may at times cause problems but at other times it is what helps us to get along and accomplish our goals. His Technical Reasoning sometimes makes me nervous but it's only because I don't go about things in that same way. Our Confluence works hand in hand with each other. Precision, our desire to be right can sometimes cause heated arguments. Our Sequence also goes hand in hand with each other but, it is often in different areas. This allows us to each be informed in different areas.

My strongest characteristic is being 100% goal oriented and very driven to be successful; however, undeniably equally important, is that I am definitely an organized note taker. I often get picked on at home for making lists to keep organized when doing a task, (including: daily chores, when to pay bills, appointments, etc.). I also tend to manage my time efficiently because I prioritize everything in my life, (a characteristic of being a nurse), and I try to keep my mind focused on what I’m doing at the moment. I don’t like working on important things when I am in a negative state of mind, or having a bad day, because I would never be happy with the end results. I’m never content with doing the minimum and will often push myself to do more and more; therefore, once I’ve completed something, I usually feel confident that it was done to the best of my ability. That being said, when it comes to new subject matter I tend to have difficulty with a starting point, because the…

I don’t recommend the article “Learning by Degrees” by Rebecca Mead, which questions the belief that goes against attending college to be successful in the modern society, should be published in the next upcoming issue of The Shorthorn. The article was written for an entirely different audience than The Shorthorn’s daily regular readers. Even though the article has powerful logos and ethos appeals, I would think readers from the Shorthorn wouldn’t find the topic of the article fascinating at all and wouldn’t even put up with reading the article in the first place. Also, another factor that fails to be an article that the Shorthorn’s readers would find interesting is that it lacks a claim that fails to make a case for going towards a career path immediately or obtaining a college degree first. Through my analysis on this article, I’ve provided several reasons and evidence why I don’t find this article should be published since she is trying to convince a hostile audience in this essay, gives a weak claim, and has credibility for a separate view that she is discussing about.…

The film Higher Learning is a call to action. It is a film that shows people as products of their environment. The film is set on a college campus, a place where most people learn about what they will do in their adult life to try to better the world or simply educate themselves in order to live a better life. However, life on the Columbus campus is not good; it is a battlefield between the races and sexes. I feel it is a bit exaggerated, but it allows people to see some of the issues that go on, on a college campus. The film focuses on three freshman (Malik, Kristen, & Remy) entering college. They enter a less than ideal new world that is filled with tension, anxiety and fear. Although the writer uses stereotypical characters, it is important to point out that although the character might be fictional; students like the ones portrayed in the film actually exist.…

I had a situation where I had to choose between getting two discussion assignments done or tending to my father, who just had his second hemorrhagic stroke. I chose to deal with my father. In this case I think I used more of my Precision learning pattern, because I kept telling myself that I would have time to get my assignments done when I got home. The personality spectrum categorizes personalities into four types: a thinker, organizer, giver and adventurer. My strongest dimension is that I am a giver. I’m a honest person and I’ve always wanted to help other. I was taught to treat others how you would want to be treated, living by the golden rule “Do unto others and you would have them do unto you”. Starting from when I was a teenager, 13 to be exact, I started off cutting grass and mowing neighbors yards three times a for a small fee for those that weren’t able to mow their yards. I enjoyed doing it and I enjoyed putting a smile on their faces. My honesty would be the strongest because honesty is the key to it all. The world would be such a better place with more happier people if everyone was honest. Either way at the end of the day, I feel good about myself because I could help others.…

This theory is based from my hobbies, my personal experiences, and experiences told by my family and close friends. The environment was also helpful; I gained observations from what is happening around me. I am not going to say that this theory is all original since before coming up with this, I studied other existing theories and I got a lot of ideas from them on what to write. I was able to incorporate and relate what I learned into my personal life. I gained a lot of insights and realized a lot of things. Theories that I got ideas from are many and varied. But the major theory that I based from is the paradigm of Behaviorism, particularly Classical Conditioning and Operant Conditioning. I decided on this theory because I think it is easy to base it on my hobbies and observations. Citing examples would not be difficult. Most of my learning motivations and what I have observed from others are based largely on rewards and punishments or something similar to those. I believe most people would be able to relate to this theory and I also thought it would be fun and interesting to connect my hobbies to something educational and related to my course.…
