1- Introduction
This project summarizes the concept of transforming leaders, which Transforming leadership mean a process in which "leaders and followers help each other to advance to a higher level of morale and motivation". If we trying to move into a new leadership position, we must correctly diagnose the situation we’ll be facing in that new role, we risk over relying on strategies that worked for us in the past, but those approaches won’t necessarily work in new environments, so Michael Watkins developed the STARS model. To succeed in your new role, Michael Watkins recommends these steps: First (Diagnose the situation) Are you leading a startup, A turnaround, accelerated Growth, realignments, or sustaining success. Second (Select the right organizational strategies) For instance, turnarounds require faster (time pressure), riskier changes than realignments like painful cut and call for technical learning (strategies, markets, technologies). Realignments are slow and focus on cultural and political learning. Third (Adopt the right leadership style) For example, in turnarounds, people are hungry for hope, vision, and direction. You’ll need a heroic style charging against the enemy, sword flashing. Realignments require stewardship: diplomatic building of consensus around the need for change.

2- Summary
Project divided to three steps to explain the concept of transforming leaders or how to choose the right transition strategy, to simple the concept let’s follow these three steps: 1-Diagnosing Your Situation

2- Selecting the right transition strategy
3-Adopting the Right Leadership Style

Before explaining these steps in details lets explain the (STARS Model) did by Michael and it use a lot during picking the right transition strategy:

1-Diagnosing Your Situation:
First determine what kind of transition your organization faces. Watkins focuses on two transition types ((turnarounds and realignments)). A turnaround management: is a process dedicated to corporate renewal. It uses analysis and planning to save troubled companies and returns them to solvency. Turnaround Management involves management review, activity based costing, root failure causes analysis, and SWOT analysis to determine why the company is failing. Once analysis is completed, a long term strategic plan and restructuring plan are created. These plans may or may not involve a bankruptcy filing. Once approved, turnaround professionals begin to implement the plan, continually reviewing its progress and make changes to the plan as needed to ensure the company returns to solvency. Challenges include: reinspiring demoralized stakeholders, Making effective decisions under pressure and going deep enough with painful cuts. In realignment, you must reenergize a previously successful organization and raise people’s awareness of the need for change. Challenges include: convincing stakeholders that change is needed, Restructuring the top team and refocusing the organization. 2- Selecting the right transition strategy:

The STARS model identifies the following acronym Startup, Turnaround, Accelerating growth, Realignment, and sustaining success. This strategy allows you to identify existing problems and concentrate on those action plans that can resolve those challenges. By being in a startup business level, assemble a skilled business team, obtain sufficient capital,...
