Module 5: Laws and Rules of the Road

Create a car saying (Bumper Sticker) or a Road Sign (Billboard) that would describe one main point you learned in Module 5. This is an example of a bumper sticker from a former student: ““Driving the right speed is always a good deed. Enjoy your ride and don’t collide!”
1. What would yours say? " Be smart and drive smart"

2. How would it look? The bumper sticker would have a person with a floating bubble over there head thinking "be smart and drive smart" with an A+ next to him or her.

3. Now, write at least one paragraph (5 sentences or more) which explains why you thought this would make a great bumper sticker or billboard, and how it summarizes the information you learned in Module Five. Remember to use complete sentence answers and proper spelling and grammar.
I thought this would make a good bumper sticker or billboard because in module five we learned about being safe while driving. In order to drive you have to be "smart" or have some knowledge on how to drive. You always have to be prepared for what might happen. Even if your'e doing the correct things while driving others may not be. If you cannot think ahead and realize this might be a dangerous situation you may put yourself in a bad place and not have the ability to get out before it becomes unsafe.

Module 6 Effects of Alcohol and Drugs

Some day you might find yourself in a dangerous driving situation because of drugs, alcohol, or extreme drowsiness due to medication. Talk to a parent or guardian about what they would like for you to do if you find yourself in this situation. Answer the following questions in one or more complete sentences.

1. What will you do if you question whether or not it is safe for you to be driving?

The Ontario Regulation 455/07 and Demerit Points System are two programs put in place that go hand in hand to protect the people from drivers who have to common sense or dangerous drivers. Collisions are something we would see a lot more of had we not put these two programs in place, they control and stop the reckless driving that could cause death and or injury. Ontario Regulation 455/07 describes to drivers that if you are going to be on the road racing, competing in contests and and performing stunts, you must be prepared to face the consequences that come along with that. Doing these things could result in death and/or injury to you and/or other drivers that share the road. Races, contests and stunts are dangers. In this article races are defined as one or more persons competing and/or chasing another car. A stunt is defined as a driver attempting to lift all or some of the wheels of their car off the road, losing traction, causing the vehicle to spin; without control over the vehicle. The Demerit Point System is a system put in place to assure that drivers do not repeatedly break the law while driving. Every driver begins with no demerit points, these points will accumulate if the driver is continuously convicted. Demerit points will vary with the extent of the offence, they go from one to seven but only stay on your record for 2 years. Points may also depend on whether or not you are a new driver or experienced driver. These two documents were put in place for good reason, imaging the roads without these documents is horrifying, the death rate would increase to a disgusting point and there would be no control. Follow and understand these rules, they are meant to help.…
