B A (Hons) in English
1. Objective:
The course aims at students’ obtaining a comprehensive understanding of English Literature and at the same time, paying considerable attention to his or her communication skills. It is, therefore, a compilation of Literature and Language courses.
The objective of this curriculum is to guide a student, in a step-by-step manner, to reach him/ her to a level of literary expertise that recommends his/ her writing skills and appreciation of Literature.
2. The Program:
A student will be required to complete a minimum of 40 courses (120 credits) in order to obtain his/ her Bachelor’s degree, with options to choose the courses from 54 available titles.
In addition, students will take a Non-Credit CELP (Certificate in English Language Proficiency) course in the First Semester.
3. Course distribution:
The four-year ‘Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in English’ program is to be completed in twelve semesters. This is an integrated course curriculum and students have to complete the syllabus in the following manner: 15 Language Courses x 3 credits = 45 credits
18 Literature Courses x 3 credits = 54 credits
7 General Education (GED) courses x 3 credits = 21 credits --------------------- = 120 Credits
Students can take a minimum of 3 courses and a maximum of 5 courses each semester.
