Congressman
There are many congressmen in the state of Florida. Our current senators are Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio and there are twenty-seven representatives in Florida. Ron DeSantis, who is the representative for the sixth congressional district of Florida, is the representative for where I currently live. Bill Nelson, the senior United States Senator from Florida, has served since 2001 and is a part of the Democratic Party. He attended UF before transferring to Yale, and later earned his law degree from the University of Virginia He was elected to the senate in 2000, and was re-elected in 2006 as well as 2012, and won with over 50% of the votes in both re-elections. He is married to Grace Cavert and they have two grown children: Bill Nelson Jr., and Nan Ellen Nelson. His family is Presbyterian. Marco Rubio is the junior United States Senator from Florida and is a member of the Republican Party. He was elected in November of 2010 and has served since 2011. Rubio earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from UF in 1993, and his JD degree cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law in 1996. He is married to Jeanette Dousdebes and together they have four children; Amanda, Daniella, Anthony, and Dominic. His family is Roman Catholic but attends a southern Baptist church. Ron DeSantis is the representative for the 6th Congressional District of Florida. He has served since January of 2013 and is part of the Republican Party. He graduated from Yale with a B.A. in history in 2001, and earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2005. He has been married to Casey Black DeSantis since 2010 and they attend a Catholic church in their hometown of Ponte Vedra Beach.

    Rubio was born May 28, 1971. He was born in Miami. He grew up in a working-class environment before his family and himself moved to Las Vegas in 1979.
