Dear Mr. Holmes,
I would first like to thank you for organizing our recent trip to China on behalf of my entire family. We thoroughly enjoyed traveling around China and the activities you suggested were perfect for us.
I do however feel the need to bring one unfortunate instance to your attention. The hotel you booked for us in Beijing, the China Crown Hotel, was a huge disappointment. Though listed in our itinerary as a four-star hotel, and described as being “recently renovated and within walking distance to the Forbidden City”, the establishment was neither.
The China Crown was in no way a four-star establishment, and if renovations were recently carried out, our room was not included in them. The hotel itself was of a poor quality, and I have attached photographs of the dirt and mildew we were welcomed with in our room, and other areas of the building.
We did request a different room from the front desk, and after being met with considerable resistance, were finally shown two other rooms that were actually worse than our own.
As far as being within walking distance to the Forbidden City, though some may consider 6 miles to be a brisk walk, we certainly do not.
I feel that a refund in the amount of $417.28, the cost of our three nights in the China Crown and Taxi fare to the Forbidden City, is fair compensation.
Thank you for your kind and speedy attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Yimin

The Roaring Dragon Hotel (RDH) was a historical three star hotel owned by the state of China and located in southwestern region of the country (Grainger, 2008). In 2001, “the provincial government was concerned that the potential of the hotel was not being realized” so they invited Hotel International (HI) to modernize and manage the RDH (Grainger, 2008, p. 1).…

This letter is written in an attempt to appeal my academic probation and allow me to receive financial aid so I can continue my college education. During Module 3 and 4 my grades were poor. The cause is no less than my own fault, but I believe the circumstances I faced led my focus away from my education. In the beginning of 2012 I found out I was going to become a dad and that was a huge impact for my life so I had to get my self together and I knew going to school getting my degree would give me that opportunity to make my life and son life better but having to deal with my grandma suffered a heart attack and pasting away was an event that sent my world into a spiral, then also having to move to another state and not being stable enough to keep focus I was thrown off and this cause me to be in a depression mode. I continued school as best I could and helped my mother and take care of my grandma medical bills I took out additional loans for much more than was needed to pay for school. I was also out of a job and living off savings and credit cards, which was a huge mistake. Beginning towards the end of 2012 my bills began to pile up and I was getting behind. I managed to get a part-time job to help pay for bills and was still trying to go to school, but as the bills mounted part-time work wasn't enough to keep me afloat. I had to start working full time. I tried to continue my schoolwork as best as I can, but as time went on work took over my life and my education took a backseat. I didn't plan on this happening and I didn't want to withdrew from classes because school was the only thing I have at bettering my life and I constantly told myself I could maintain this , but it never worked for me. Now that I have stabilized myself a lot I have my own place full access to the internet in a very well comfortable environment I can guarantee improvement, I do not work at the moment I know I can be more responsible and take on a light,…

However, on the morning of my departure as I was checking out, I noticed that my bill for the 2 nights had been calculated at the regular room rate. When I mentioned to the desk staff person that I was supposed to get the special, he said that my reservation had been made by phone- that I had called the 800 number and had actually been talking to your central reservation office at your headquarters in New York. He also told me there was no local staff on duty at the moment who could deal with correcting any error, and since I had a flight to catch, I paid the amount billed.…

My name is Ali Shaheed and I am writing to appeal my suspension from financial aid. I hope that you will reconsider your decision and grant my financial aid. I would like to begin thanking you in advance for taking the time to read this letter and consider my request to reinstate my financial aid at Henry Ford Community College. I take full responsibility for my unsatisfactory completion rate, but I would like to explain the circumstances. I started my first semester at HFCC in winter 2012, and I failed to attend my classes due to my mother being sick, and I had to rush her to the hospital every other day. I had to take care of her because I’m the only one she had. In a result I failed to make satisfactory academic progress due to me not attending classes.…

On February 18, 2013, I bought through your Zara USA website two of the woman shoes. I purchased in size 6 both the Electric Blue wedge sneakers and the brown Studded Strappy sandals. Each item cost me $129 plus $23.78 for tax. At checkout, I specifically chose the 24-48 hours express delivery option that costs an extra $9.95. The shoes were to be delivered between the days of February 19th and February 21st, 2013. On February 21st, 2013, I alerted your customer service agent, Ms. Tina Lopes, about the late order and she promised that my shoes would be arriving the following day. However, the order did not arrive until 5 business days later, February 25th, 2013. When I finally opened the package, the sneakers and sandals did not satisfy my request. The Studded Strappy sandals came with two left feet and in size 9. Also, the Electric Blue sneakers came in black suede, with no extra laces, and in worn conditions. Additionally, I was not assisted regarding this order in your 580 Broadway and 750 Lexington Avenue stores. Time after time I have had poor luck reaching a customer service agent via email and telephone calls. Enclosed is a phone screen shot of the complete order, the confirmation email, and the statement charging $291.73 to my Visa account from Zara USA.…

Beijing is a fast developing metropolitan city with blend of old and modern. Being alive for more than 3,000 years, Beijing still hasn’t stopped being the number one destination of history and culture. There are barely any buildings that do not have any national historical meaning to it. I know many bad things have been said about Beijing, that the city is too polluted, the people there aren’t welcoming and respectful or that the city is over populated. You could choose to believe those people or you could go and see for yourself, take a closer look at the magnificent city and witness China’s most historical and modern sites. This is one of those opportunities that are illegal to miss.…

I bought the new black IPhone five on December 5, 2012 as a Christmas present to my boyfriend. The item number was 556799876. Unfortunately, Christmas morning when we opened gifts we discovered that the center button did not work. We figured without the center button we could at least do a few things with it before we got it fixed. Then we found that when we opened any app the phone would automatically turn itself off and then back on. At this point we were very unhappy. Since it was such an expensive gift that was all I got him, and it didn’t even work. I also paid the insurance in full when I purchased the phone. My total for the insurance was two hundred dollars, and my total for the phone was eight hundred dollars. I would have expected after paying one thousand dollars for a phone that it would work perfectly. I spoke with a representative named Jan, and she ensured me that I would be sent a new phone. When the new phone came in the mail the box said refurbished on it. I was confused, but I figured as long as it worked perfect we would not fuss about it. I opened the box and realized that the phone was white and also had scratches all over the glass on the back. The item number for this phone was 443259086.…
