Born to Run was released on August 15th, 1975 by Records American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen. Springsteen was just 24, when the album was released and he was hailed as the New Bob Dylan. It was produced by Columbia, and was viewed as his breakthrough album. This album went to number three on Billboard200 and sold 6,000,000 copies by 2000. The album made several “Best Ever” lists and is listed in the Library of Congress National Recording Registry of historic recordings. When Born to Run vaulted into the top 10 in its second week on the charts (October 27, 1975) and soon went Gold, Time and Newsweek magazines put Springsteen on the cover that same week. The third album was very different from the first two. The first two were recorded in a suburban studio where as Born to Run was produced by Columbia Records. Bruce replaced two of his back-up band which gave the band a highly produced sound with lots of keyboards and drums, echo’s on vocals and layers of guitars. The cover art of Born to Run is one of rock music's most popular and iconic images. The photo shows Springsteen holding an electric guitar, while leaning against saxophonist Clarence Clemons. One of the singles released from the album was Born to Run. Written in a small house in Long Branch, New Jersey in early 1974, the song was Bruce Springsteen’s last-ditch effort to make it big When recording the song, Springsteen, known as a perfectionist, when through as many as eleven guitar tracks before he got the south right. This single is impossibly romantic where the mundane easily becomes electric. It's a song about a guy and a girl, and their search for happiness, love, family, and a connection. Written in the first person, the song is a love letter to a girl named Wendy “Wendy let me in I wanna be your friend I wanna guard your dreams and visions...
