board game
Safe Point!
Game Mechanics:
2-4 players.
A die
Four labs comprising four scientists.(labs are the starting points, scientists are four colored objects/pieces)
Safe point.
Map could be circular or rectangular.
The idea of the game-
Each player has four scientists trying to escape from a lab, and to get to the safe point safely before the zombies overwhelm the building. To get out of the lab you have to roll a 6 on the die to get each scientist out. Getting out of the lab, you will have to go around about 45-50 blocks on the board clockwise to get to the center of the board which is the safe point. The safe point can hold just four scientists of one lab at a time, so the first player to get all of his/her scientists to the safe point is the winner, then every other player has to battle for who is the runner up and so on. You will be faced with some obstacles on your way to the safe point so be careful. Also, be careful of other scientists as they will do anything to get to the safe point before you, even send you back to the starting point just so they get there before you.
Obstacles:
You can land on a block which is muddy and will leave you stuck for three turns.
If a scientist from a different team (let’s say team A) was to land on a block being occupied by a scientist from (let’s say team B), the scientist from team B has to return to the starting poit ( the lab) and start his/her race to the safe point all over again.
Exceptions:
You can’t land on a block being occupied by two or more scientists from another team. That blocks the path, therefore none of your scientists will be able to pass until that player moves one of his scientists, or you roll a 6 on the die.
In a scenario where you land on a scientist who is stuck on a muddy block, you are both stuck. That scientist doesn’t have to return to the lab to restart the hustle to the safe point.
To get out of the muddy block quick, if you were to roll a 6 on the die, you can choose to use it

Barry supports his argument by using logical appeal. He states, “A shovel can dig up dirt but cannot penetrate rock.” He then explains that a scientist would know what to use and not to use when in trouble. He focuses on explaining how scientist should work in certain circumstances.…

I selected this book because I was thinking that it would keep me entertained and make it so that I will not fall asleep. This was one of those books that it did not matter about what happened before it you can just start reading it from the start, so before the book began I have now idea what happened I just started to read the book and I liked it. When the book begins it starts out with ender and his brother and sister and his brother is mean and is always threatening his younger brother ender and his younger sister. In this story it is the narrator that is telling it. The setting was important because it was at Enders house at first and his older brother, bulling hem, which made ender stronger and made it so that he would look out for himself. In the beginning the author held my interest because the government shipped ender off to military school at age three.…

    Ender's Game

“Don't judge a book by its cover!” your mom tells you for the third time this week. It's not your fault that the new kid at school is shy and distant. They're weird , not you--right? Well that’s not always the case, and your misperceptions could cause you to become enemies. The same concept applies in Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, but the outcome is devastating. Ender Wiggin, a six year old genius, battled everyday with the conflict brought on by his hateful brother, Peter, who did everything in his power to weaken Ender. The tension heightened when Ender remained the only one of three children to be monitored by the government. Because of this monitoring, the government took notice of his analytical mind and intellect. Colonel Graff, a government official, then asked him to join an elite program called Battle School where young boys and girls were trained to fight the Buggers (aliens). Though he was under pressure with memories of his brother's cruelty looming, he still managed to pass his training. Eventually, his success as a Commander unknowingly and sadly resulted in the death of an entire civilization. Orson Scott Card directly illustrates through the casting of “good” and “evil” characters the importance of communication. Ender and Peter, Valentine, and the Buggers are perfect illustrations of how the lack of communication can cause failure among human relationships.…

"When you fight an enemy, you can't just win the fight. You have to knock them so far back that they won’t fight anymore. You have to win the battles to come before they happen.” A good quote from the character Ender Wiggin. I read the book Enders Game written by Orson Scott Card. It is a very good book in my opinion, there is many things that can be taken and learned from it. For example I learned that when leading your men you have to know their strengths and weaknesses and what they are good at, just like Marine Corps leadership principle number ten "employ your command in accordance with its capabilities". You can’t send your marines to accomplish something if they have no idea how to do it. Some marines are better at doing one thing than another, and other marines are better at other things. There are many things from this book that can be learned when leading your fellow marines.…

“POP!” “POP!” “CRASH!” Screams of agony and terror filled the town as I sprinted out the front door just in time to see the 15- foot wave of molasses crash down onto the town bellow. Woman, children, and men were devoured by the thick wall of cement while trees and houses were ripped out of the ground and demolished. Every living thing that got in the way of that 35 mph giant was crushed and suffocated by the sticky syrup that engulfed their lungs. I then realized that the wave was raging closer like a tiger chasing for the kill. I lunged forward to move but my legs remained motionless; fear held me like a prisoner chained to the ground. Before I could blink I was hit by such a substantial force and fell to my knees landing in an ocean of…

I was walking down the trail to Sombrio Beach which is about a 1.5k hike down a steep trail to the ocean. I had a surfboard under my right arm, an axe in my left hand, and a large 40 litre hiking backpack fully loaded with supplies on my back. About half way down there is a left turn in the trail which has a declining gradient of approximately 30 degrees. Since water runs down the trail there is a grove etched out in the middle where fist sized rocks are littered and tree roots are exposed. I was fairly fatigued and not paying attention when I took the left turn and caught my right foot on an outlying root sending me stumbling down the hill. I discarded my surfboard and axe and struggled to keep my balance amidst the rocky terrain. Since I had forward momentum from tripping down the hill, when I discarded my surfboard it flew forward onto the path ahead of me about 6 feet down the trail. I stumbled a few times and then had to react quickly to jump over the surf board which lay perpendicular to my forward progress. After jumping over the surfboard I was able to regain control of my body and slow myself down to a stop and go collect my belongings.…

Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card is the backdrop to many in-depth characters that are essential to the plot. The story is written in the third person omniscient point of view but the reader really only hears the thoughts of Andrew “Ender” Wiggin, the child protagonist of the story. Ender is a round and dynamic character because throughout the story, you watch him grow up fighting prejudices and overcoming challenges that have been placed in his way by the secondary antagonist, Colonel Graff. The reader empathizes with Ender and feels his pain as he is given so many challenges that he almost breaks. The secondary antagonist is Colonel Graff, a flat but dynamic character who acts as a puppet master, controlling, isolating, testing, challenging, and ultimately…

“Most armies practiced mass maneuvers, preformed strategies. Ender had none. Instead he trained his toon leaders to use their small units effectively in achieving limited goals. Unsupported, alone, on their own initiative. He staged mock wars after the first week, savage affairs in the practice room that left everybody exhausted. But he knew, with less than a month of training, that his army had the potential of being the best fighting group ever to play the game.”…
