2.) Compare and Contrast Christianity, Islam, and Judasim.
In the book, A History of Knowledge; Jesus Christ founded Christianity; Muhammad founded Islam; and Abraham founded Judaism. The Jews and the Christians both believe God chose the Jews as a witness of God’s rule over mankind. But unlike the Christians, the Jews do not except the fact that Jesus is the son of God. The Islams agree with the Jews about the existance of the Trinity, (Son, Father, Holy Ghost) as they don’t believe in this. However, the Islams believe that Muhammad received a message from God saying that he was his messenger. The Old Testiment is the Jewish holy book. It is also holy for the Christians in a sense that it is read as a prophecy of the coming of Christ. The Islams don’t believe that the Old Testiment is holy in correlation with their religion. They all have one God to praise but only the Christians believe in the Trinity. Only the Christians believe in the ressurection of Jesus but the Islams along with the Christians believe their will be a second coming of Jesus. The Christians believe that original sin inherited from Adam. The Jews believe that there are two equal impulses: one good and one bad. The Islams believe that there is an equal ability to good or evil. 8.)Compare and Contrast Democracy, Communism, and Fascism.

Communism is an economic ideology that states that workers of a nation can unite and take control over private industry. Democracy is a form of government in which citizens of a country directly participate in making policy. Fascism is a totalitarian government in which oppostion to the state is prohibited. It is typically a militaristic society in which war is waged to boost patriotism. In a Fascist state, the supreme virtue is obedient to a great dictator. Democtacy is a governmental system while Fascism is a political party. Out out of the three theories, a Democratic country gives more power to the people than the other two theories. Fascism is a political party. Out out of the three theories, a Democratic country gives more power to
the people than the other two theories. In a communist state, everyone is even; meaning there are
no classes and as Democracy is controlled by the people, Communism controls the people like a
Fascist state would.
1.)Based upon the Information Provided by Van Doren, what is Knowledge and why is it Important to
Civilization?
“Many human beings are unhappy either because what they know or what they do not know.”(xxii)
Many people have the desire to know what they do not know. This sometimes causes arguments,
confrontations, and in serious circumstances, war. Many countries are divided and/or against each
other because they think they have the knowledge of religion that they think should be known and
kept throughout their nation. Without knowledge, we would have no particular reason to exist. Their
would be no religion, no primitive instincts, and no simple awareness such as the sun rising in the
morning. Without knowledge, their would be no solutions to problems, no justification and/or law, nor
would their be a sense of progress or productivity.
4.)Discuss the Impact of Christain Church on Medieval Europe.
Not only was the church a religion, it was a way of life. It was the duty of every authority in the nation
to support and nurture the church. Many people attempted to understand the ways of God. They
studied him, they thought about him, and tried to obey his way. Most citizens in Medieval Europe
became obsessed with God. Their lives became more God-centered than ever before. They began
to say that only if their desire was entirely in accord with God’s desire for them, then they are at
peace. They began to see the Old and New Testiments as textbooks to a better way of life. But the
farther they got into the studies, they disputed the requirements and the answers that were given by
God in the holy book. They started to see their civilization as city of God which was a large
differation of the city of man.
